We are thrilled to share official photos of our newly completed West Bellevue Custom Home! This home was designed by Archius Design and built by Alair Kirkland. It combines elements of modern and minimal design to create the ideal calming, functional, high-end family home. Let’s take a tour of the main floor!
The light-filled entry features 20’ ceilings, numerous windows, and three architectural glass panels to flood other rooms with light. A floating live-edge walnut bench compliments the slate tile floors and White Dove by Benjamin Moore walls and trim.
Moving into the main living area, the dining room and stairs connect the living room and kitchen, while a pantry between the two lends privacy to both. The living room’s focal point is the gas fireplace flanked by windows and low cabinets for storage. Kentwood Crystal Beach oak floors add warmth to the minimal palate throughout the home.
The stairs are equal parts function and art installation with their mono-stringer open support and oak treads. The space under the stairs serves as a seating area connecting the living room and kitchen. Open walnut cubbies and floating counters make it an ideal spot to enjoy a cocktail and appetizer before dinner!
The spacious dining area has cabinetry on either side, making it perfect for entertainment. Accordion doors from La Cantina open to the covered patio and outdoor kitchen. Featuring multiple large windows, the kitchen is flooded with light throughout the day. A 4’ wide refrigerator, stone front cook top, island prep sink, and walk in pantry add to the upscale feel of the kitchen. The island cabinets are walnut, while the perimeter is a light gray, with quartz countertop throughout.
While the main living area on the first floor has an open, airy feel, it also features multiple private areas for the family. To the left of the stairs are an upscale powder room and a home office. The office features built-ins and a storage closet that connects to the garage, making it easy for the client to slip in and out for work meetings.
Off the dining room, the mudroom connects to the garage and mechanical room. Past the dining room are the playroom, first floor guest suite, and media room for family movie nights. The playroom’s wall of built-in storage and sink area make art project clean up a breeze. Wiring was included for a wall mounted TV and an 8’ slider leads right to the patio and back yard.
The media room includes a speaker set up designed and installed by Seattle Hi-Fi for full 7.1 surround sound on the projector. To the side is a generous snack bar with beverage fridge. Just off the patio is a dog wash for the family’s beloved goldendoodle. A raised shower floor makes washing easier and a quartz ledge above keeps essentials within arm’s reach.
The best part of designing a custom home is tailoring each space to fit exactly what the client wants and needs in their home. Next, we’ll look at the second-floor family and personal areas.
